Kenya hockey teams to camp at Kasarani
The Kenya national hockey teams will head for a three weeks residential training camp at Kasarani ahead of the September 26th to October 6th Africa cup of nations to be held at the City Park Stadium.
Union vice chair Ellyna Shiveka has said they are waiting for the government to approve the budget before the team can head for the residential camp.
The national team has been in non residential training camp for over three months now while holding a number of friendly matches at the City Park Stadium with top teams in the men Kenya hockey premier league.
“We intend to send the national team for residential camp as soon as possible which will run for approximately three weeks before the championships begin. All we are waiting for now is government approval of the budget.” said the vice chair.
In June the union cancelled a planned tour of Ghana where the team had been scheduled to play build-up matches ahead of the Africa Nations Cup tournament.
