Kenya cricket ladies set for South Africa training
Three cricket women players will leave the country on Friday morning for Johannesburg South Africa to attend a four day training exercise organized by the countries senior elite academy.
The players led by captain Emily Ruto, U-19 cricketer Daisy Wairimu and Sharon Juma will be attending the training set to begin on Saturday at the South African capital.
This will be a major boost to Kenya women cricket as they are set to gain competitiveness in the game of cricket therefore raising the cricket standards in the country.
The three Kenyan ladies will be part of the 30 players selected from various African nations who will then pool together in the rigorous one week training.
The captain who has been to the academy before says she was honored to have been selected once again knowing she stands to gain a lot from the training.
“Basically I know what to expect from the training, it was important to me back in 2011, I gained a lot as a person, player and captain and I am looking forward to another serious development training .” he said.
“My other teammates though relatively younger Iam sure they will have a good time and experience as well. We all stand to gain a lot in the four day extensive training exercise. It will for sure translate to the national team performance.” She said.
