Kenya 7s begin Gold Coast quest, lands in pool B for Singapore Sevens

Kenya 7s begin their Commonwealth quest on Friday 13th. then after that head for Singapore Sevens

Shujaa have had a busy schedule this month. From the Hongkong Sevens last week where they finished as runners up, the team is now in Gold Coast Australia for the Commonwealth games slated for 13th to 15th then after that they will head to Singapore for the Singapore sevens  from April 28 to 29th.

The Commonwealth Rugby sevens kicks off on Friday 13th with the men’s and women’s preliminaries. Kenya Sevens have been drawn against alongside New Zealand, Canada and Zambia in Pool C. The action will be staged at the 27,500-capacity Robina Stadium until he medal matches on Sunday 15th April, 2018.

For the first time in history, women’s competition at a Commonwealth Games is on the timetable with Kenya Lionesses attracting Canada, South Africa and Fiji in Pool A. The Lionesses also begin their gold quest on Friday.

After the Commonwealth games,nNext on the calendar is Singapore sevens where the Kenya 7s team will battle against USA, France and England in Pool B. Their first action will be against England on Saturday 28th April at 7:52am then France 7s at 11:18am before winding up group matches against USA at 2:44pm Kenyan time.

After finishing runners in the Vancouver and Hongkong, the Kenya 7s gained 38 points to push their total to 83 and position seven in the HSBC Sevens Series ranking. After Singapore, the team will participate in the final two legs at London and Paris.
