Kenya seal Africa semi final slot with win over DR Congo

Kenya Prisons Centre Player Edith Mukuvuliani Wisah and Kenya Pipeline's Trizah Atuka played a crucial role for Kenya as the Africa defending champions picked their third straight victory at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Yaounde Cameroon.
The Kenyan girls posted a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12) win over Democratic Republic of Congo as the tournament entered day 3 at Palais des Sports Hall in Yaoundé.
The win secured a semi finals position for Kenya who have now edged closer to a ticket to the World championships in Japan. Only two teams at the competition will qualify for the FIVB Wold finals in Japan.
Wisah scored 13 points for Kenya just one above her central team mate Atuka who scored 12 points. Congo’s Margot Mutshima contributed 8 points for her losing side.
In another crucial match also played on Monday, hosts Cameroon fought back after a good start to defeat Algeria 3-1(25-20, 25-9, 17-25, 25-10) in Pool A.
