KCB goalkeeper Olang'o reported missing
Olang'o

According to his elder brother Kevin Olang'o who plays for FC Talanta, Opiyo was last seen on Saturday evening and efforts to reach or trace him since then have been futile.

The family of KCB goalkeeper Brian Opiyo Olang'o is in agony following the disappearance of the player under unclear circumstances.

According to his elder brother Kevin Olang'o who plays for FC Talanta, Opiyo was last seen on Saturday evening and efforts to reach or trace him since then have been futile.

Opiyo last public appearance was on Friday as he was the substitute goalkeeper in KCB's 3-2 win over Shabana last Friday at Kenyatta Stadium Machakos.

Olang'o revealed that the player confided to his spouse on Saturday evening that he would leave the house to catch up with friends and later return home.

Since then, his phone has been on and off in various locations which Olang'o termed as unusual of the former national U17 team goalkeeper.

The matter was reported at the Makongeni Police Station on Monday morning after the family failed to establish connection with their loved one.

"We are asking anyone who has information on his whereabouts to reach to the family or report to the nearest police station. He rarely switches his phone off or fails to communicate, " said Olang'o.

An update from the club complicates everything as it appears to suggest that the player hinted to his spouse that he was in danger before the phone was switched off.

"We have received reports from the family of our player Brian Opiyo Olang'o that the goalkeeper has been missing from 6pm March 10, 2024.We have been informed that he sent an SOS to his wife stating that he is not at a safe place, " read a post from KCB FC.

Opiyo rejoined the bankers before the start of the season from the 2008 league champions Mathare United.

The former Kariobangi Sharks player unsuccessfully tried out with Egyptian club Wadi Degla in 2022.
