Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers are away in Mombasa where they are scheduled to face off with Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women’s league holders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

The Antony Ojukwu-coached holders look to continue their unbeaten run in a clash that they are expected to dominate going by the two side’s form.

Coach Ojukwu is relying on his squad’s depth to run a blemish-less campaign in the regular league and go all the way to defend the title they won last season, beating Equity Hawks.

Last weekend, the dockers played University of Nairobi (UoN) Dynamites for a massive 105-15 victory and maximum point against the no-show Kisumu Lady Bucks.

The side is buoyed by the addition of Nigerian import Ifunaya Okoro who joined the defending champions before the start of the second leg. The player had first featured for KPA in this year’s Women’s Champions Cup.

“I was impressed with her performance at the Cup competition where she was one of our best performers and that's when we decided to have her remain in the team for the second leg. She was ready and excited to play for us and so it was easy to complete the move," Ojukwu offered

In the men's league coach Sammy Kiki's men are up against ANU Wolfpacks, the only side that subjected the dockers to a loss this season.

However, the return fixture is a different ball game as the varsity side had since lost some crucial players and their performance in the second leg has been wanting.

Kiki's will be buoyed by their last weekend wins against UoN Terror and Nairobi City Thunder as they look to move closer to the top of the table.
