Moving The Goalposts (MTG) of the coast received 3 points and 2 goals after McMillan Queens failed to show up for their away match at Mnarani Grounds.
The Women’s National Super League which has been on a break since mid-December resumed with NSL Zone A side, Kayole Starlets extending their lead at the top of the standings with a commanding 4–0 victory over Hildana Queens at Calvary Grounds on Sunday.
On a muddy pitch, Kayole took the lead early in the 4th minute through forward Eunice Wanjiru. Defender Mollyvine Awour added a second in the 25th minute and Mercy Mang’uro made it 3–0 before halftime.
The second half saw less action, but Captain Sarah Chalovu sealed the win with a goal in the 74th minute. The victory pushes Kayole eight points clear at the top with 29 points, followed by Bandari Queens in second with 21 points.
Mathare United Women’s FC did not participate in this weekend’s fixture as they are attending the funeral of Mathare United club’s founder, Bob Munro, who passed away earlier this week. All FKF matches countrywide held a one-minute silence before kickoff in his honor.
