In NSL Zone B fixtures, Eldoret Falcons fell to Royal Starlets 2 – 1 while Solasa Stima defeated Chakol Queens 1 – 0.
Kayole Starlets continued with their impressive run as they defeated Uweza Women 1 – 0 in the Women National Super League Zone A match played at Calvary grounds in Kayole.
The home team started the match fired up, going straight for a goal, but Esther Wanjiru's shot hit the goal post. The next minutes saw Kayole dominating the Match, with Uweza goalkeeper rising to the occasion denying Chris Kach and Sarah Chalovu.
Just before the break, Kach had a chance to take the lead after being put through on goal with only the goalkeeper to beat, but her shot went wide.
The second half was largely one sided, as Uweza struggled to maintain possession. In the 60th minute, a long ball from goalkeeper Pauline Kathuruh found Wanjiru who controlled and squared it to Sarah Chalovu. Chalovu was brought down in the box with the referee pointing to the spot.
Mellisa Vivian stepped up, placing the resulting penalty to the right side of the goalkeeper, giving Kayole the lead. Six minutes later, Kayole had the opportunity to double the lead but Lavyne Achola's shot hit the wood work.
In the closing minutes of the game, they had more opportunities to double the lead but Nuru Hadima and Shakin failed to convert their chances. The win sees Kayole move to second place with 14 points, tied with top placed Falling Waters Barcelona who lead on goal difference rule.
