Kasarani Stadium should be ready next month-Sports CS
Sports and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Achesa has asked the contractor renovating the Kasarani Stadium and Nyayo Stadium to speed up work so that the facilities are available from next month.
The closure of the two facilities for renovations has greatly affected the Kenyan Premier League where clubs are forced to play in substandard pitches with Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos bearing the brunt of overuse.
Speaking while inspecting the progress at Kasarani Stadium, CS Achesa to The Star:
“I have talked to the contractors who are working on the stadia as well as sports Kenya who have assured me that all will be done in a month’s time. We have to start hosting games here as soon as possible.”
Kenya lost out on bid to host CHAN 2018 due to the slow pace of renovating the stadiums.
