The lush fairways of Kakamega Sports Club will welcome over 250 golfers this Saturday for the 22nd leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, as participants vie for slots in the tournament’s grand finale.

Since its inception, the tour has grown into one of the most dynamic amateur golf circuits in the region. In Kenya, it has already made stops in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu, Nandi, Kiambu, Nyeri, Kisii, Machakos, and Laikipia, connecting a vibrant community of golfers and enthusiasts across the country.

Beyond Kenya, the tour has extended its reach to Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi, with Rwanda scheduled to host its leg later this month.

KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communication, Rosalind Gichuru, highlighted the broader impact of the tournament: “The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has given us a unique platform to not only grow the sport but also to engage communities across the region. So far, we’ve reached more than 2,500 people, including juniors who represent the future of this game. It is about building connections, growing talent, and creating a sustainable legacy for golf in East Africa.”

On Sunday, the focus will shift to the community, with a junior golf clinic aimed at introducing young players to the sport. A tree-planting activity is also scheduled, reinforcing KCB’s commitment to sustainability and ensuring the tour leaves a positive mark beyond the fairways.

Kakamega Sports Club Captain, Ronald Omondi, expressed confidence in hosting a successful leg: “Our greens are in excellent condition, and everything is in place to give golfers a memorable experience. We look forward to welcoming players from across the country for what promises to be a thrilling competition.”

With each edition, the KCB East Africa Golf Tour continues to blend sport, sustainability, and community engagement. For the golfers heading to Kakamega this weekend, the stakes remain high, while the tournament itself continues to stand as a symbol of regional unity and transformation.

After Kakamega, the next leg of the tour will head to Limuru Country Club on October 18, 2025.
