Homeboyz will represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup next season with Gor participating in the CAF Champions League.
Kakamega Homeboyz's wait for their first major title is over after edging Tusker 1-0 to lift the Football Kenya Federation Cup at Kasarani Stadium.
The experienced Kevin Amwayi scored the all-important goal for Homeboyz in the second half to earn his side the title at the expense of Tusker who have now suffered fresh heartbreak.
Tusker lost the league title race last week by a point to Gor Mahia and were hoping to redeem themselves in the Cup.
However, that was not to happen as Homeboyz squeezed the slim win to pocket two million shillings in cash award.
Further, Abana Abeingo were awarded a million shillings from their shirt sponsor Mozzart Bet and a similar amount from club chairman Cleophas Shimanyula.
Following the win, Homeboyz will play in the CAF Confederation Cup next season with Gor participating in the CAF Champions League.
Homeboyz forward Moses Shumah was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player with Tusker winger Stewart Omondi winning the Golden Boot courtesy of the four goals scored.
AFC Leopards custodian Levis Opiyo was feted as the best glove man thanks to the four clean-sheets kept.
Meanwhile, Leopards finished third after humbling Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in the third-place playoff staged at the same venue earlier on.
Eugene Mukangula scored the match winning goal in the second half. Ingwe pocketed Ksh. 750 000 with Ulinzi getting half a million shillings.
