Jesse Were the MVP against Nkana as Zesco coach resigns
Kenyan striker Jesse Were scored the only goal to help Zesco United beat Nkana FC at Kitwe.Coach Tenant Tembo resignedd after the match
Harambee Stars striker Jesse Were produced a man of the match performance to bag the MVP award and score a goal that helped Zesco United extend their unbeaten history since 20014 against Nkana FC in the Zambian Premier League.
Were struck a thunderbolt in the 69th minute , his second goal in succession after also scoring against Buildcon when he came on as a super sub.
Jesse however didn’t not finish the match as he was pulled out due to injury in the 85th minute with his place going to Adams Zikiru.
The other Kenyan Anthony Akumu came on for Lameck Banda in injury time while David Calabar was at the heart of Zesco defence throughout.
Meanwhile, Zesco United Football Club has parted company with the Club's Interim Coach Tenant Chembo after Zesco versus Nkana match on Sunday.
A press statement by the club stated that Tembo had announced his resignation today after the game involving Zesco and Nkana Football Clubs in Kitwe.
The club wished Tenant Chembo all the best in his future endeavors and promised to name a new appointment on Tuesday, 10 April 2018
