Talanta FC coach Jacklyne Juma made history on Saturday becoming the first woman coach to win a top flight match in Kenyan FKF Premier League history. Juma who took charge of Talanta FC earlier at the start of the season achieved this milestone against the most decorated coach in Kenyan football Robert Matano’s side Sofapaka FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Juma who holds a CAF A licence took over from Ken Kenyatta with the promise of guiding to Talanta away from previous relegation battles and it is now evident from her first match in the top flight that her vision might be working, as Talanta could be a force to reckon with this season

Talanta FC secured the 1-0 victory over Sofapaka through a last-minute goal from the spot despite having a penalty in the 9th minute.

Coach Juma is not new in the game. She has previously coached the Kenya national Harambee Starlets U15, Gaspo Women, Kayole Starlets, Acakora Ladies and Gor Mahia Queens.

In other FKF Premier League matches, Kariobangi Sharks came back from two goals down to seal a 3-2 victory over Tusker while Nairobi City Stars and Bidco settled for a 1-1 draw with both games being played at Dandora Stadium.
