Indiza, Njoroge lead Kenyan charge at Uganda Open

Four other Kenyans including the legendary Jacob Okello, Robinson Owiti, Njuguna Ngugi and Greg Snow remain with a chance of making the cut in Uganda with round two action set for Thursday.

Kenya’s Dismas Indiza and Samuel Njoroge remain in contention for the top prize at the ongoing Uganda Open at the Serena Lake Victoria Golf Resort and Spa course in Entebbe.

Indiza is a seven time winner of this event, having won it in 2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2012 and 2018.

Four other Kenyans including the legendary Jacob Okello, Robinson Owiti, Njuguna Ngugi and Greg Snow remain with a chance of making the cut in Uganda with round two action set for Thursday.

The 2022 Uganda Open has been incorporated onto the Safari Tour which serves as a qualifier for the Kenya Open and with a Ksh 3.5 million prize for the winner, is the richest tournament on the Safari Tour. 

Commenting after day one action, Njoroge said, ““The course gave us a very good test today with varying conditions especially a windy morning. The greens are a bit soft thus calling for increased accuracy and controlled ball spin. I was very patient today and putted very well making some good saves.”
