Homeboyz Shumah Relishes Harambee Stars' Call up
Shumah was voted the man of the match is the semi-final tie pitting Homeboyz against Leopards as he was on target and further made the Ingwe backline busy throughout.
Kakamega Homeboyz forward Moses Shumah avers that his call up to the Harambee Stars team is the best reward of the efforts he has been putting at club level.
Shumah was among the four players who were handed their maiden call ups to the team when coach Engin Firat named the 30-man provisional squad of the Four Nations Tournament, scheduled to be held in Mauritius from June 11th to June 18th, 2023.
Others who landed their first ever consideration to the team are Kariobangi Sharks skipper Kevin Luke Otiala, Sofapaka goalkeeper Simon Masaka and Kenya Police midfielder Charles Ouma.
Shumah who is in first season in the Kenyan Premier League admitted that his inclusion in the team caught him by surprise as he wasn't expecting it all considering that he was yet to make himself a name before the call.
He however insists that the work put in the league and domestic cup where he engineered AFC Leopards elimination justifies his inclusion.

"I am happy to have been called to the national team for the first time. I wasn't anticipating for it but I am glad someone noticed my talent. I would not have been considered had it not been for the hard work put in at club level,” he said.
Shumah joined Homeboyz before the current season kicked off. Before making the move to Abana Abeingo, the forward was training with Division One side Equity FC.
Stars kick off residential training on Monday, June 5, and are set to depart for Mauritius on June 10, 2023.
They will be pitted against the hosts Mauritius, Djibouti, and Pakistan.
