Hockey Africa Cup of nations gets new dates
Africa Hockey and International Hockey Federations have set 18th to 24th November 2013 as the new dates for the postponed Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Nairobi.
The championships were initially set for 26th of September at the City Park Stadium but had to be moved backward due to the terror attack that hit the Westgate shopping Mall. The Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) wrote to AFHF to get the dates moved owing to the insecurity in the country at that time.
Nii Quaye- Kumah who is the African Hockey Federation Secretary General has confirmed the said dates in a letter to KHU, "The above dates have been agreed upon for the 2013 cup of nations." read part of Kumah’s letter.
