Harambee Stars vs Zambia friendly cancelled

Harambee Stars’ scheduled friendly match against former African champions Zambia has been cancelled. The match was to be played on November 14th in Machakos.

According to Football Kenya Federation CEO Robert Muthomi, Zambia will not be able to honor the friendly due to logistical challenges.

Football Kenya Federation had hurriedly sort to schedule the Zambia friendly as a replacement after the withdrawal of Rwanda who are set  for CHAN qualifier playoffs. Kenya was scheduled to play Rwanda on November 11th.

Following the withdrawal of Egypt from CHAN, CAF instructed that Rwanda play Ethiopia  in  a play-off with the winner taking up Egypt’s slot.

The news of the cancellation comes just a day after head coach Stanley Okumbi had named his provisional squad of 28 locally based players to report to camp in preparation for the friendly.
