The provisional squad announced is set to commence residential training in Nairobi from September 22 before travelling to Tanzania on October 4th after squad trimming.

Harambee Stars U-20 coach Salim Babu has announced his provisional squad for the upcoming AFCON U20 CECAFA region qualifiers that is set to take place in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania from October 6th to 20th next month.

In the draw held last week Thursday, Kenya was placed into group A of the competition alongside hosts Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan and Djibouti. Group B of the competition consist of the reigning champions Uganda, South Sudan Burundi and Ethiopia. The top two teams in Group A and B will automatically qualify for the semi-finals while the two finalists will get the slot to represent the region next year at the AFCON tournament.

Babu who led the U18’s team late last year to a second-place finish at the CECAFA competition held in Kisumu has called in notable players who shone during the Kenya Secondary School’s. They include; Iran Mushindi, Houstin Alouch together with Harrison Amalemba from Musingu school. Amalemba is known for his set piece taking abilities. Miguel Osotsi and Humphrey Aroko from Highway secondary, Hamisi Otieno from Goseta and finally Austine Odongo from Ebwali secondary.

Defenders: Joseph Bate (MOFA), Amos Wanjala (Athletic Club Tollerano), Manzur Okwaro, Baron Ochieng (Sofapaka), Collins Ochieng (Kariobangi Sharks), Rodgers Wasega (Nairobi City Stars), Francis Gethoi (Naivas), Mohammed Aden Kaire (Mombasa United), Meguel Osotsi (Highway Secondary School), Charles Auma (Sofapaka), Jackson Imbiakha (Mombasa United).
