Harambee Stars off to a flying start as CECAFA kicks off
Kenya’s soccer team Harambee Stars secured a dream start to the 2017 CECAFA senior challenge cup on Sunday following their 2-0 win over Rwanda as the tournament started at the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega.
Two goals in the first half secured the win that welcomed newly installed coach Paul Put . Masoud Juma started the positive afternoon with a converted penalty after 24 minutes of play for the host’s lead. Duncan Otieno then grabbed his debut goal for the national team in the 38h minute with a beautiful screamer from 24 meters.
The second half was heavily affected by a heavy downpour but Kenya put up a solid defense line to take away maximum points.
