On Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24, 2024, the competition intensified with standout performances from NCPB Men and Ulinzi, while Daystar Falcons and UOE Pipers provided drama in tightly contested games.
NCPB Men proved their dominance once again with a 37-13 victory over Boomerang, keeping their undefeated streak intact. The team’s defensive prowess and clinical attacking play were too much for Boomerang, who struggled to break down NCPB’s well-organized defense.
Ulinzi, meanwhile, cruised to a 46-16 win over Young City, also maintaining their perfect record with a one-sided performance. Their attacking unit was ruthless and Young City had no answers as Ulinzi asserted their superiority on the court.
In one of the most dramatic moments of the weekend, Daystar Falcons overpowered The Citizens 36-22 on Sunday. The Falcons dominated the game, with their aggressive defense and fast breaks leaving The Citizens with little to no chance. Desert Scorpion also delivered a hard fought 36-31 win over UOE Pipers. The Pipers fought hard, but Desert Scorpion's resilience in the final minutes sealed the win.
UOE Pipers themselves had a mixed weekend, first drawing 37-37 with The Citizens on Saturday in a high-scoring thriller, before narrowly defeating NYS Men 33-32 on Sunday. The draw with The Citizens saw both teams trading goals in a tense back-and-forth affair, while the Pipers showed composure in the dying seconds to edge out NYS Men by a single goal in their Sunday clash.
Despite these exciting matches, The Citizens continue to face challenges, struggling to maintain consistency with losses to Daystar Falcons and the draw against UOE Pipers. Their weekend results left them battling to stay out of the bottom half of the table. Meanwhile, Boomerang and JKUAT found themselves sharing the spoils in a 30-30 draw on Sunday, unable to break the deadlock in a tense encounter.
