Gor Mahia names strong line-up for Zamalek tie
Zamalek host Gor Mahia in return fixture of CAF Confederations Cup Group D match
It will be a battle of the giants as Kenyan side Gor Mahia faces Zamalek of Egypt in return leg of CAF Confederations Cup group D match on Sunday evening.
The highly anticipated fixture will kick off at 10pm Kenyan time at the 86,000-seater Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt.
Gor Mahia shocked the Egyptian giants 4-2 in the first encounter at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on February 3, 2019. The hosts Zamalek who boasts of an experienced squad with eight players having played in the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be out to reverse the catastrophic outing in Nairobi.
Gor Mahia will miss the services of trusted pair of hands in keeper Boniface Oluoch but Fredrick Odhiambo who did well against NA Hussein last week will be equal to task. Shafique Batambuze who headed in the denied goal against NA Hussein Dey will miss the cash due to suspension.
Gor coach Hassan Oktay will have Rwandese Jacques Tuyisenge lead the attack line with experienced Dennis Oliech on the bench just in case Zamalek prove a hard nut to crack. Playmaker Francis Kahata and Ken Miguna will marshal the midfield.
30-year old Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea assisted by Nigeria's Abel Baba and Chad’s Issa Yaya will take charge of the fixture.
DSTV and BeIN Sports will broadcast the match live.
The other group D match pitting hosts Petro de Luanda aginst NA Hussein Dey ended 2-0 in favour of the Petro, perhaps a good result for Gor Mahia should they manage to beat Petro de Luanda at Nairobi next week.
