Gor Mahia knocked out of Shield Cup, Tusker progress

Gor Mahia FC  has been dumped out of the 2017 Shield Cup contention following their 6-5 penalty shootouts loss to Bandari in a match played at the Thika Municipal Stadium on Sunday.

The two teams had played to a one all draw in regulation time  but it was Bandari's final laughter that carried the day after their sub keeper Joseph Okoth saved two penalties to take his team to the next round.

While Gor Mahia nursed their misery , defending champions Tusker labored  past National Super League side Palos with a slim 1-0 win at the Meru's Kinoru stadium.

Elsewhere in Mombasa, KPL side Nzoia United had to survive  penalty shootouts to edge out Division One side Coast Stima 5-4 as the two teams played to a barren draw at Mbaraki.
