Gor, Tusker throw it wide as they share spoils at Nyayo
What was supposed to have been an entertaining and a clash laced with goals pitting champions Gor Mahia and Tusker ended in a barren draw at Nyayo Stadium.
The top of the table clash brought in the two top teams in the league with each hoping to gather maximum points and move to the top.
However, there was nothing to separate the two sides in either half and thus, had to settle for a point after the final whistle was blasted.
The result leaves Tusker at the top with 65 points, one ahead of Gor. It also drags Nzoia back to the equation as the Bungoma based club is five points off the top spot.
Nzoia shot themselves in the foot after shockingly losing 1-0 to Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday at Sudi Stadium, a venue they had made a fortress.
Elsewhere, FC Talanta can rest easy after the team assured themselves of participating in next season's top flight campaign.
This is after the Communications Authority of Kenya backed side beat Kakamega Homeboyz by a solitary goal at the Kasarani Annex.
Michael Jairo's first half goal was enough to give Talanta maximum points.
Earlier on at the same venue, Bidco United rallied from behind to hold the relegated Vihiga Bullets to a 3-3 draw.
Jessy Kajuba was on target twice for Bullets with Nicholas Masamba adding the third goal.
Jacob Onyango, David Orem and Ezekiel Okare were on target for the Thika based club.
Meanwhile, Wazito suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Bandari at the Mbaraki Stadium.
