Gold for Manangoi , Silver for Cheruiyot in 1500m

Elijah Manangoi kept to his word that he will win the Commonwealth gold by doing exactly the same on Saturday at the Gold Coast Australia.
Manangoi was followed by fellow Kenyan Timothy Cheruiyot for a Kenya 1-2 finish.Elijah Manangoi clocked 3:34.78 for the 1500m win, with Timothy Cheruiyot timing 3:35.17 for silver.
Scotland’s Jake Wightman won the brone after clocking 3:35.97.
Manangoi’s gold was the fourth for Kenya in the 2018 Commonwealth games.
Kenya now has 4 gold medals (Wycliffe Kinyamal, Conseslus Kipruto, Hellen Obiri and Elijah Manangoi).Overall Kenya has 17 medals (4 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze) and are placed 13th in the Commonwealth Games medal table.
Kenya could bag more medals in the Marathon races set for Sunday.
