Although he didn’t get on the score sheet, Boniface had an impressive match to remember for his debut. His Thierry Henry no look pass pre-assist for the second goal is something to live for.

Xabi Alonso’s team who made history with their unbeaten Bundesliga title winning streak last season took the lead early in the game through Florian Wirtz. Defender Alejandro Grimaldo doubled the lead with a fantastic finish in the 30th minute before Wirtz got his second six minutes later. An own goal from Timon Wellenreuther sealed the win for Leverkusen.
