Flying start for Butali as League kicks off
Kenya Hockey Union men premier league defending Champions Butali on Saturday kicked off their title defense campaign with a positive win walking home with maximum points following their 3-0 win over Green Sharks.
Stoel Joren (16th minute), Seth Oburu (49th minute) and Barnabas Odhiambo (59th) scored for the visiting side.
Despite the comfortable win, Butali Coach Cliff Okello said, “It is good that we won the match but I was not very impressed with the performance. The opening match is always a gauge of our fitness. At the same time this was a very physical match with a lot of emotions especially in the second period but I am glad my team held on to the win without conceding.”
