FKFPL Saturday Wrap: KCB lose chance to go top, Gor lose, Mathare relegation woes increase

Things continued to go pear shaped for Mathare United, the 2008 champions staring ever so closer at relegation after Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Posta Rangers in Ruaraka

KCB lost the chance to usurp Tusker atop the FKF Premier League log, playing to a 0-0 draw away to Kakamega Homeboyz in Nakuru on Saturday 26 June 2021.  The result sees KCB stay second on the log on 43 points from 21 outings, a point behind Tusker.  Homeboyz are ninth with 27 points from 20 matches played.

Defending champions Gor Mahia lost momentum in the race to top the summit ahead of the June 30 cut off date set by FKF to nominate Kenya's representatives to the 2021/22 CAF Champions League. They fell 2-1 to Western Stima in Thika. Geoffrey Ochieng's late goal served as consolation for Kogalo  who fell behind to goals from Rogers Ouma and Michael Karamor. Gor Mahia are on 38 points fron 21 outings.and sit fourth on the table. Stima are 15th with 16 points from 21 matches.

AFC Leopards leapfrogged Gor into third place with a 2-1 win over Wazito at Utalii. Michael Owino put Waziito ahead but Bien Shaka restored parity with a close range finish before Elvis Rupia's penalty secured all three points for Leopards who now have 40 points. Wazito slipped to 10th on 27 points.
