Underdogs Bungoma Stars have once again defied the odds, clinching another upset victory and advancing to the Round of 16 in the FKF Cup. The FKF Division 2 side secured their spot with a hard-fought 1-0 win against FC Talanta on Saturday 24 February 2024 at the Police Sacco Stadium.
Meshack Makokha’s 38th-minute goal secured the victory for Bungoma Stars against FKF Premier League FC Talanta.
Meanwhile, at the Kenyenya grounds, SS Assad also advanced with a 3-1 win over Bomachoge Borabu.
SS Assad’s Hamisi Nyere opened the scoring in the 70th minute. Four minutes later, Dominic Orweya’s strike leveled the game for Bomachoge Borabu. In the 79th minute, Hamidi Abdalla extended SS Assad’s lead, and six minutes later, an own goal by Bomachoge Borabu’s Augustine Nyabuto sealed the 3-1 victory for SS Assad.
Compel, Sofapaka, and Kenya Police secured their spots in the Round of 16.
Compel defeated Kajiado FC 2-0 in Webuye as Sofapaka claimed a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Silibwet Leons after playing to a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Police edged out Posta Rangers 1-0 in an all FKFPL clash at the Police Sacco Stadium.
