The 2025 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) group stage draw took place on Friday November 22nd ,2024, at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Salé, Morocco, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive tournament come July next year.
The teams have been divided into 3 groups, with the hosts Morocco being one of the headlines in Group A. They will be joined by Zambia, who claimed third position in 2022 edition, as well as Senegal and DR Congo.
In Group B, 11 time African champions Nigeria will battle it out against underdogs Botswana, Tunisia and Algeria, who return after missing out last edition.
In Group C, possibly considered the ‘group of death’, will see reigning champions South Africa face the tough challenges from Ghana, Mali and East Africa’s sole representative Tanzania.
