Former AFC Leopards, Ulinzi Stars, Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth striker Ezekiel Otuma has sadly passed away. The devastating news was shared by his wife Rachael Otuoma, on her tiktok on the morning of Saturday, December 21st, 2024.
Otuma who was diagnosed with Motor neurone disease in November of 2020, forcing him to hang his boots, has been in and out of hospital and had lost the ability to speak and to walk leaving him confined in a wheelchair.
The football community in Kenya has mourned his passing with fans and former footballers sharing their condolences. His childhood friend, Sofapaka CEO Ronald Okoth, eulogized on X, posting, “ Rest in peace, my brother. You gave everything on and off the field. The greatest warrior you fought with strength and courage, now you’re at peace, and it was an honor to share those football dreams with you. Our childhood football dreams will forever live on in my heart.”
His former club AFC Leopards shared, “TRANSITION. Ezekiel Otuoma has rested. We pass our heartfelt condolences to his family and entire football fraternity. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
