The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) Women's football team emerged as the champions of the CECAFA Women’s CAF Champions League qualifier. CBE secured a 1-0 victory against Kenya Police Bullets FC in a match played on Thursday afternoon at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.

The Bullets, who had aspirations of making their debut appearance at the Champions League after winning their inaugural Kenyan League last season, were left disappointed but excited at the opportunity to walk this far in their debut attempt.

CBE’s winning goal came in the 78th minute, following a beautiful build-up that started deep in their half and culminated in Senaf Wakuma skillfully tapping the ball beyond the reach of the Police keeper.

As champions, CBE of Ethiopia will now represent the CECAFA region in this season’s CAF Women's Champions League.

Kenya Police Bullets FC’s journey to the finals was remarkable, as they dismantled their fierce rivals, Simba Queens, with a 3-2 win. However, Simba Queens, despite being bolstered by Kenyan stars, went on to lose the third-place playoff to Uganda’s Kawempe.

The Police Bullets FC's incredible rise from underdogs to CECAFA finalists has sparked enthusiasm among football fans across East Africa, showcasing their resilience and determination.
