Defending African Club champions, KCB edged DCI 3-2 in its first match of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League playoffs that served off on Friday at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, Nairobi.
The lionesses comfortably won the first set 25-17, but lost the second set 25-21, but later claimed the third set 25-23. DCI would cause problems for the African champions winning the fourth set 25-23. The team has garnered two points after Friday’s win and will be looking to add more when they face their arch-rivals Kenya Prisons on Saturday.
Speaking after the match, KCB Head Coach Japeth Munala said: “I am happy with the win but we have a lot of areas to improve on and polish as we face Prisons on Saturday.
