Confident Gor Mahia set for CAF Confederation Cup return leg

Gor Mahia head to Pretoria for their CAF Confederations Cup return leg against Supersport United.Gor carry a 1-0 first leg advantage

Gor Mahia depart on Monday for their CAF Confederations cup return leg clash against Supersport United at Pretoria, South Africa on Wednesday 18th April 2018.

On arrival, the team is scheduled to have light training as a build up to the match to be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria at 20:00hrs Kenyan time on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia take with them a 1-0 lead and are beaming with confidence ahead of the match that stands between them and the lucrative group stages where they stand to earn a cool Ksh 27million.

Coach Dylan Kerr has promised not to park the bus against Matsatsantsa. Gor has no current injury worries meaning Kerr has at his disposal Ivorian Epraim Guikan who was feared injured. Ugandan defender Godfrey Walusimbi however remains absent after a pay disagreement with the club while Karim Nazigimana nears return to action after a long injury lay off.

While Gor Mahia's domestic league match against Kakamega Homeboyz was postponed to give the team maximum concentration for the return leg, Supersport United had to fight out in a frustrating barren draw against Masoud juma's Cape Town City in an ABSA Premiership match on Saturday.

The going has been tough for Supersport United as they have not won any of their last five matches in the ABSA Premier League. This leaves the club, who reached the CAF Confederations Cup final last season, perilously perched two points above relegation.

On the other hand, Gor Mahia are yet to lose in the Kenyan Premier League this season. They sit in second spot just a point below leaders Mathare United with two matches at hand.

K'Ogalo have the meanest defense in KPL as they have conceded only three goals in eight matches.

If form on paper were anything to go by, Gor Mahia would be the bookies favorite to sail through from the two-legged CAF Confederations Cup encounter but only the action on the pitch will confirm this next Wednesday.
