Champions League: Salah wipes poor form, Lewandowski saves Barca

Mo Salah scores a hattrick as Liverpool demolished Rangers 7-1

Mohamed Salah came off the bench to score the fastest hat-trick in Champions League history as Liverpool demolished Rangers 7-1 at Ibrox last night.

Scott Arfield had given the hosts a 17th minute lead before Liverpool started their comeback, Roberto Firmino hitting a double, Darwin Nunez adding another, Salah hitting his three within six and a half minutes and Harvey Eliott completing the rout after a VAR review.

Meanwhile Robert Lewandowski scored two late goals to save Barcelona from elimination in the Champions League in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Inter Milan. Barca would have been eliminated with defeat, but Lewandowski rose off to head home a 91st minute equalizer to save a 3-3 draw.

In other fixtures last night, Heung Son-Min scored a brace as Tottenham Hotspur beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in London. Harry Kane scored the other from the penalty spot and he should have had a brace as well, but blew over another spotkick late in added time.

At the Doosan Arena, home side Victoria Plzen suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich. Leon Goretzka scored a brace, adding on to a 10th minute opener from Sadio Mane and another from Thomas Muller to confirm their place in the last 16.

In Naples, Victor Osimhen scored the fourth goal as Napoli crushed Ajax 4-2. Hirving Lozano, Giacomo Raspadori and on form Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added the other goals.

Elsewhere, Porto beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0, Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge played to a 0-0 draw, while Marseille beat Sporting Lisbon 2-0.
