Speaking after the game, NCPB skipper Timothy Karimi said, “The game wasn’t easy, JKT is not a bad team, they have trained, have good chemistry. Experience has helped us a lot.”

NCPB men defeated Tanzania’s Jeshi la Kujenga Taifa (JKT) 32-20 at the East and Central Africa Club Championships in Zanzibar.

They lead this clash 17-12 at the interval. 

Speaking after the game, NCPB skipper Timothy Karimi said, “The game wasn’t easy, JKT is not a bad team, they have trained, have good chemistry. Experience has helped us a lot.”

His sentiments were echoed by his coach who said, “We had a bad start but we rectified it through making substitutions as we had earlier missed plenty of open chances from fast breaks and wing shots. We dominated both ends when we came back for the second half. 

“We overcame the individuality of the first half and gave a team display in the second half.,” he added.

Women’s action saw Nairobi Water defeat JKT 35-23. 

Nairobi Water led 20-12 at the interval.

The tournament runs until 11 December 2022.
