Now, two of Africa’s volleyball giants will meet in a high stakes final on Sunday. Will Zamalek defend their crown, or will Al Ahly reclaim the top spot?

It's an all Egyptian showdown for the volleyball title as defending champions Zamalek will face record holders Al Ahly in the Women’s African Club Volleyball Championship final this Sunday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Zamalek battled hard to beat Kenya Pipeline 3-2 in a thrilling five set semifinal (25-23, 26-28, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12). The match was a fierce battle, with both teams trading big hits and smart plays. Mariam Mohamed was the star of the show for Zamalek, delivering powerful spikes and key points when it mattered most.

Despite KPC’s fightback, including standout serves from Trizah Atuka and some clutch defense, Zamalek held their nerve in the final set to punch their ticket to the final.

In the other semifinal, Al Ahly made a strong statement with a clean 3-0 win over Tunisia’s CF Carthage (25-15, 25-23, 25-21). They started fast, stayed solid on defense and didn’t let up. Even when Carthage pushed back, Al Ahly’s focus and energy carried them through.
