With Prisons and KCB out, all hopes now rest on Kenya Pipeline to carry the torch into the semifinals, and perhaps even go all the way.

Kenya Pipeline are flying the flag high as the only remaining Kenyan team at the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship, after serving up a sweet dose of revenge against Rwanda’s APR with a commanding 3-0 win (25-21, 25-17, 25-14) in the quarterfinals.

The win not only earned Pipeline a spot in the semifinals, but also helped them avenge their recent Zone 5 final loss to APR. From the first serve, it was clear that KPC meant business. The opening set was competitive, with both teams trading heavy hits and big blocks, but Pipeline found their rhythm late in the set to take it 25-21.

In the second set, KPC turned up the heat. Their attacking game clicked into high gear and APR couldn’t cope with the pressure. Trizah Atuka’s two key blocks shifted momentum firmly in Pipeline’s favor, and they closed the set 25-17.

By the third, APR looked out of sorts—flat, disorganized and overwhelmed. Miscommunication crept in and Pipeline took full advantage, cruising to a 25-14 finish and sealing their place in the last four.

But it was a different story for the other Kenyan sides.

Kenya Prisons put up a brave fight against African heavyweights Al Ahly but eventually went down 3-1 (25-12, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25). After dropping the first two sets, Prisons showed resilience by taking the third and pushing Al Ahly all the way in the fourth, but the Egyptians held firm to advance.

KCB, too, saw their title hopes dashed after a 3-1 loss (25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21) to defending champions Zamalek. The Lionesses battled hard and even leveled the match at one set apiece, but Zamalek’s experience and consistency ultimately proved too much.
