Captain Shikobe Urges Fans to Pack the Stands for Tunisia Clash

Speaking during the pre-match press conference today morning at the Ulinzi Complex, the captain expressed confidence in the squad's readiness and called on the supporters to turn up in large numbers and support them.

As the Harambee Starlets gear up for their crucial round one WAFCON Qualifier against Tunisia tomorrow, captain Dorcas Shikobe has issued a heartfelt plea to Kenyan fans, urging them to come out in full force and support the team. Speaking during the pre-match press conference today morning at the Ulinzi Complex, the captain expressed confidence in the squad's readiness and called on the supporters to turn up in large numbers and support them.

“I feel good and I am ready to fight for the country,” Shikobe said. “But we need our fans now more than ever. Just like they packed this stadium during the U 17 qualifiers, we ask them to show up in huge numbers tomorrow. Their support will give us the strength and energy needed.”

With their eyes firmly set on securing qualification, the Starlets have been in camp putting in the work, and Shikobe believes the team is fully prepared for the challenge ahead. "The mood is good, everyone is focused, and even the youngest players who have recently joined the senior team have stepped up. We're all ready to give our best," she added.

Shikobe also reflected on the lessons learned from their last qualification attempt, when they were eliminated by Botswana. “Last time out, we didn’t manage to qualify, but this time we’ve prepared better and we’re giving it all we’ve got. The team is stronger and the spirit is high,” she said.

While acknowledging that the match against Tunisia won’t be easy, Shikobe remains undeterred. "Qualification is tough, it's a knockout, but we're going to take it one match at a time. We know we can win," she stated confidently.

Her final message was one of unity and motivation, not just for the team but for the fans. "We’ve talked, we know the task ahead, and we are ready to face it. To our fans, please turn up and support us, your presence matters more than you know. Together, we’ll make it happen," Shikobe urged.
