Cameroon and Egypt to host Africa's World Championship qualifiers

The Confederation of African Volleyball on Wednesday announced that the next edition of the World Championships qualifiers will be held in Cameroon.

The qualifiers will also double up as the Africa Nations Championships and will be held between  October 7 to 14, 2017 in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé.

This competition will act as a qualifier for the 2018 FIVB World championship to be held in Japan. The top two countries from amongst the teams, who had registered with FIVB for the 2018 World Championship, will qualify to represent Africa in the prestigious competition.

The CAVB Sports Events Department determined the 5th of August as a deadline to confirm the participation.

Cameroon was the 2015 edition bronze medalists in Kenya where the hosts captured the gold medals.

At the same time ,CAVB announced that Egypt will host the men’s edition of the African Nations championship and WCH Qualifiers.

The unified event will be held in Cairo International Complex October 22 to 29, 2017 to determine the African Champions as well as the three teams who will clinch the three African tickets at the 2018 FIVB World Championship.

The top three teams from amongst the teams, who had registered with FIVB for the 2018 World Championship, will qualify to represent Africa in finals held in joint organisers Bulgaria and Italy.
