The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled new media rights and television agreements for the 2024/25 CAF Interclub Competitions. This announcement follows a successful bidding process for pay TV (in English) and free to air rights across the Sub – Sahara Africa.
The newly secured rights encompass Africa’s premier club competition including;
- Total energies CAF Champions League 2024/25.
- Total energies CAF Confederations Cup 2024/25.
- CAF Women’s Champions League 2024/25.
- Total energies CAF Super Cup 2025.

In a statement to the press, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed enthusiasm about the growing interest in African football. “The exponential growth and global competitiveness of football in Africa has resulted in substantial interest from major African and international broadcasters in African football. SuperSport, SABC and Azam Media have been participating competitively in the CAF Media rights bids. CAF welcomes them as partners, joining a number of CAF’s media right holders. We are committed to ensuring that CAF’s competitions inclusive of its broadcast are world class.” He stated.
The previous seasons audience metrics indicate a thriving interest in African football. The 2023/24 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League experienced a remarkable increase in viewership with North Africa witnessing a growth of over 25%. Meanwhile, East and Southern Africa saw an impressive 40% in both television audiences and digital engagement.
