CAF President Motsepe in Kenya for a series of meetings

Dr. Motsepe arrived in Nairobi on Sunday and toured the ongoing construction of the Talanta City Stadium, accompanied by Kenya’s Sports Minister, Kipchumba Murkomen.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold its Executive Committee Meeting in Nairobi on Monday, as announced by CAF Media. 

The meeting, led by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, is expected to address key topics, including Kenya’s preparedness to host the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and the possibility of hosting the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Dr. Motsepe arrived in Nairobi on Sunday and toured the ongoing construction of the Talanta City Stadium, accompanied by Kenya’s Sports Minister, Kipchumba Murkomen. Motsepe also had an opportunity to tour Kasarani stadium that is under renovations to meet international standards.

Currently, Kenya lacks any CAF-approved stadiums, with both Nyayo Stadium and Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani undergoing renovations. This situation has forced the national soccer team, Harambee Stars, to play all their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers away from home.
