The quarterfinal matchups promise to be thrilling as all three Kenyan teams aim to continue their strong performances and push towards the title.

Kenyan teams in the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja, Nigeria, have all made it to the quarterfinals, with KCB Lionesses, Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline each securing their spots in the next round.

KCB Lionesses defeated host team Nigeria Customs Service in a dominant 3-0 sweep. Despite Nigeria's strong start, KCB quickly regained control, winning the sets 25-19, 25-17 and 25-17. With this victory, KCB advances to face the defending champions, Zamalek, in the quarterfinals—an exciting matchup that promises to be a tough test for both teams.

Kenya Prisons had a much harder battle, overcoming Rwanda Police in a thrilling five set match. After winning the first set 25-23, they lost the second set 19-25 but bounced back to take the third 25-20. The match then went into a 2-2 tie as Rwanda Police won the fourth set 25-21. In a tense fifth set, Kenya Prisons showed composure and won 15-10. This victory earned them a spot in the quarterfinals, where they’ll face Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Kenya Pipeline, on the other hand, had a much smoother route to the quarterfinals, sweeping Botswana’s Spiking Stars 3-0. The match ended in under an hour, with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-6. Pipeline’s performance was nearly flawless, and they now look ahead to a quarterfinal showdown with APR, the CAVB Zone V Club champions. Pipeline will be eager for revenge after losing to APR earlier this year in the Zone V Championship.
