The Burundian coach arrives at a challenging time for Police FC as the team has struggled in the league, securing only one win and five draws so far this season.

Kenyan Premier League heavyweights, Kenya Police FC, have officially announced Burundian Ndayiragije Etienne as their new head coach on November 30th, 2024, during an event held at Ole Sereni Hotel. Etienne replaces Salim Babu, who, along with his entire technical bench, was dismissed earlier last week.

The Burundian coach arrives at a challenging time for Police FC as the team has struggled in the league, securing only one win and five draws so far this season. Etienne is no stranger to East African football, having previously coached the Tanzanian national team and Azam FC. He played a key role in leading Taifa Stars back to the Africa Cup of Nations after a 39-year absence. Additionally, he has coached Bugesera FC in Rwanda, Vital'O in Burundi and recently led the Burundian national team during the AFCON 2025 qualifiers before parting ways due to poor results.

Etienne’s main task will be to turn Police FC's fortunes around and restore the team's competitive form. His challenge will be to meet or surpass the high expectations set by Salim Babu’s impressive performance last season. Etienne’s tenure begins with a tough test this Sunday, as Police FC faces AFC Leopards at Dandora Stadium.
