"We are thrilled to announce that a dozen elite women's teams have officially confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2023/2024 season of the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League," a communique from the federation via their social media platforms reads.
The 2023/24 season is set to serve off in November with matches slated for 2nd and 3rd at the Koitalel Samoei University grounds in Mosoriot.
The three sides will be joined by holders Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) who begin the season as favorites given their squad depth. Runners-up from the just-concluded playoffs Kenya Pipeline will be out to reclaim their title, as will former champions Prisons Kenya.
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) leads the charge for teams that want to challenge the status quo. Other teams in the league include Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), Nairobi Water, Prisons Nairobi, Post Bank and Kenya Army.
The men's league will have 16 teams with Base Yetu and CAU joining the top-tier league from division one.
This season's action will see newly-crowned Prisons Kenya men fight to retain the title they had missed out on since 2016 while dethroned General Service Unit (GSU), Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), KDF and Trailblazers lead the charge to deny the warders a back-to-back championship.
