Bronze medal for Wawira in women's para lifting

Kenya’s Hellen Wawira finished third in the women’s light weight para power lifting category at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on Thursday night.

She accumulated a total of 98.5 points to claim the bronze medal.

England’s Zoe Newson claimed the gold medal with a cumulative score of 102.2 points with another Englishwoman Olivia Broome settling for silver with 100.2 points.

Another Kenyan, Joyce Njuguna, missed out on the medals, finishing fifth in the women’s heavyweight category.
