Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have shot to the summit of the Premier League after shooting down Ulinzi Stars 2-0 at Kasarani Stadium.

The win was sweeter by the fact their closest challenger in the title race in Tusker lost 2-1 to the relegation battling Wazito at Muhoroni Stadium.

Prior to today's matches, Tusker were at the top with 65 points, one ahead of Gor who are bidding to reclaim the title they lost to the brewers three years ago.

Gor put in a performance of their lives to seal the game in the first half at the expense of Ulinzi who struggled to match up the pace and rhythm.

Austin Odhiambo starred in the duel as he opened the scoring flow and went on to create the second that was finished off by John Macharia.

While Gor could afford to break into song and dance after the final whistle, Tusker walked off the Muhoroni pitch with their heads down after bowing to the host.

A brace from the experienced Collins Neto reduced Charles Momanyi's goal to a mere consolation.
