Harambee Stars winger Ayub Masika has been slapped with a three match ban by CAF for using offensive language towards the referee in Kenya’s 2-1 loss against Sierra Leone last June. Football Kenya Federation confirmed they have received CAF’s communication on the same.
“I am disappointed with the verdict. As a player, I have always endeavored to adhere to the laws of the game, both off and on the pitch and it pains me to be denied the chance to represent my country, especially at this crucial period when we are trying to qualify for the 2019 AFCON,” Timbe said in a statement sent to newsrooms by the Football Kenya Federation.
Timbe has also been slapped with a One million shilling fine (USD10,000) and will now miss September’s game against Ghana in Nairobi and both home and away fixtures against Ethiopia.
The speedy winger is on loan at the second tier China League One or Chinese Jia League side Heilongjiang Lava Spring from Beijing Renhe FC who play in the top Chinese league. He joined Beijing Renhe FC from Belgian side Lierse on February last year and went to establish himself as one of the club's players but was loaned out.
