Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia suffered a set back in their bid to retain the KPL title, failing 1 – 0 to Bidco United at the Machakos Stadium on Sunday.
Gor Mahia who were unbeaten in the past three games were defeated courtesy of a lone goal from Erick Michubu, who converted a penalty in the 7th . This marked interim coach Zedekiah Zico’s first loss since taking over. With the defeat, K’Ogalo remain in fourth place with 17 points, having played one less game. Bidco on the other hand climbs to twelfth with 14 points.
In Kisii, Brian Michira netted a brace to help Shabana FC secure a 2 – 1 victory over Talanta FC, with Talanta’s sole goal coming from Emmanuel Osoro. Meanwhile in Mombasa, Derrick Otanga's goal in the 86th minute earned KCB a valuable point after a 1–1 draw with Bandari. Bandari had taken the lead through Mohammed Beja’s goal in the 49th minute of extra time in the first half but KCB equalized late on.
