Battle lines drawn as KVF league resumes at Nyayo
Prison's coach David Lungaho is a previous match action

Holders General Service Unit (GSU) under coach Gideon Tarus face off with David Lung'aho's Prisons Kenya in the match-to-watch on the opening day.

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's league makes a return from Friday 10 February at Nyayo Stadium as teams clash in the second leg of the season.

The three-day action will see all the teams play at least two matches as the race for playoff slots begins.

Most of the teams had their first leg matches, initially scheduled to be played in December last year at Mosoriot, postponed and will now be opening their season at Nyayo.

Holders General Service Unit (GSU) under coach Gideon Tarus face off with David Lung'aho's Prisons Kenya in the match-to-watch on the opening day.

Tarus says his team has adjusted to the absence of some of his key players and are raring to go.

The tactician will miss the services of national team first-choice setter Brian Melly, Simeon 'Kosirai' Kipkorir and Abiud Chirchir who were instrumental in the team's fifth consultation league title last year.

"We had a chance to field the sqaud at  Mosoriot tournament and were able to identify areas that needed to be worked on and we are now raring to go.

The target for this season is first to qualify for the playoffs then we can strategise for the title hunt after that.

I am confident in the squad I have and this weekend's action will be crucial in getting our campaign going," Tarus said.

Other matches to watch out for in the second leg include Sunday's clash between Equity Bank and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)
