Baiskeli Center offers parking solution for Nairobi cyclists

If you are a resident of Nairobi you might be familiar with the traffic gridlocks that cause you to spend hours on end in traffic.

Kenya Cycling, a  collective of cycling enthusiasts  has launched the  Baiskeli Center at Kipande Plaza Kipande road next to Paramount Plaza. This is probably the first bicycle parking facility in Nairobi
The facility is equipped with hot showers to freshen up and lockers to enable cyclists lock up valuables.
There is an ongoing offer for free parking for the first 20 bikers for a whole week from Monday at the facility which operates from 7:00am- 6:30pm Monday through to Saturday. For Ksh 150, cyclists will be able to have access to parking, lockers and showers while Ksh 100 secures a lot.

" Plans are also underway to rent out bikes for a short period of time to encourage non-motorized transport within the CBD. It's our hope that we shall incorporate a cycling culture in Kenya and we are advocating for sharing the road, and to the cyclist keep a safe distance. We also ask the Government to enforce and monitor the already designated cycling lanes to get rid of the encroching matutus and taxis," he revealed.
